While friends have blogged about the SCSM race (and also about the Salomon Run @ Kiara) earlier last week, I am just updating my readers with my SCSM 2009 race report. Yikes! Will tell more about the ‘crazy’ life that I’m living in another post
After having a plateful or rice and curry for supper at Nusajaya, I forced myself to go to sleep only to wake up 3 hours after, well at 2am. It was a mixed feeling of plain anxiety and strong enthusiasm (at least to do better than my KLIM). As usual, I went to this marathon without logging enough mileage and with new set of ‘training modules’. I spent most of my training off-road, running in the woods, up and down the mountains. God knows whether it’s for better or worst. Another new thing that I brought with me to the marathon was the ChiRunning techniques. I was still reading the book 24 hours before the marathon. Gulp!
I drove into Singapore with Shaq to Kash mom’s hse that morning, and together with her bro, Azam, we left for the racing venue just in time to deposit our bags and ran straight to the starting line to witness the run being gunned off. We were in the last pack of 17,500 runners and had a good 10 minutes walk to the starting line. That was the last time I saw my friends :0 before we re-united again as zombies at Point C after the race.
I completed the run with a time of 4:47:59 (chip time), 2 minutes earlier than my KLIM …… hehheheh lawak lawak (beria nak buat better).

the event itself attracted more than 35,000 runners, where half of it were doing the marathon .. hebat ... hebat ...

Syah went straight the weighing scale right after the run .... We all decided to meet each other back again at Meeting Point C.
Which SpongeBob SquarePants character are you?

It was suggested by fellow Corporate Athletes; Syah and Kash, that each one of us who are attempting the upcoming SCSM to wear a SBSP-character balloon to keep track of our whereabouts during the race, something like what the pacers from Team FatBird as the official SCSMarathon Pacers are doing. Except in our case, we pace in whatever pace we are running …. hahhahah.
Since I’m running out of things to blog today (writer’s block maaa), I thot of sharing the interesting characters in the SBSP family. Which one are you?
p/s – Well, I am Ian ‘Krabby’ Yusof from now on, simply because I love to eat crabs (also because he has no regards to safety for his own self … hehhehe).

from left to right: Plankton, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, SpongeBob, Squidward, Patrick, Gary, and a jellyfish.
SpongeBob SquarePants
SpongeBob SquarePants is the titular character. He is a friendly and optimistic sea sponge who physically resembles a kitchen sponge, and lives in a pineapple-shaped house. He works at The Krusty Krab as a fry cook, practices karate, enjoys catching jellyfish, and attends Mrs. Puff’s Boating School. SpongeBob failed his boating school test numerous times, and his lack of a driver’s license is a running joke throughout the series.
SpongeBob was originally named “SpongeBoy” by the series creators, but it was later changed due to trademark issues. Green and purple were early color choices for the character before his classic yellow was chosen.
Patrick
Patrick Star is a pink sea star who lives under a rock and is SpongeBob’s best friend. Patrick may not be very intelligent, but he still offers SpongeBob advice and encourages dangerous and/or foolish activities which often get the two into trouble. Patrick is often depicted as a negative influence on SpongeBob. He has occasional bursts of genius. Patrick’s parents, Herb and Margie, are almost never seen in the series.
Squidward
Squidward Tentacles is SpongeBob and Patrick’s cranky neighbor. His species is ambiguous, as has been referred to as both a squid and an octopus by the series’ creators. Squidward lives in a house shaped like an Easter island Moai statue. He works as a cashier at the Krusty Krab, a job he despises. SpongeBob and Patrick consider Squidward their friend, but the feeling is not mutual. Often depicted as a narcissist and displaying an unjustified air of superiority, Squidward has a large collection of self portraits and is delusional about his talents, such as playing the clarinet, though nobody around him considers him to be very good at these talents.
The series animators illustrated Squidward with six tentacles, believing that giving him the ten tentacles an actual squid has made him look too burdened.
Sandy
Sandy Cheeks is a squirrel who is another of SpongeBob’s friends. She is the series’ only terrestrial character, living in the “Treedome”, which is an underwater dome that contains a large oak tree. She is a scientific genius who practices karate with SpongeBob and enjoys extreme sports. She is from the U.S. state of Texas, therefore she is depicted in the series with a Southern accent.
Despite claims that SpongeBob is “somewhat asexual” by the show’s creators, several annuals state that SpongeBob holds romantic feelings for Sandy, but none of this is ever mentioned in the show. On November 6, 2009, a one-hour special entitled “Truth or Square” aired to commemorate the series’ tenth anniversary. The special featured a hoax marriage between Sandy and SpongeBob.
Mr. Krabs
Eugene H. Krabs is a greedy and selfish red crab. His daughter is a whale named Pearl. He is the owner and founder of the Krusty Krab, as well as the employer of both SpongeBob and Squidward. Mr. Krabs is often respected by SpongeBob while Squidward tends to loathe him. He is obsessed with money and often anthropomorphizes it. Mr. Krabs will do almost anything to obtain money or not lose it, usually with no regard to the safety or well-being of others or even himself.
Plankton
Sheldon J. “Plankton” is a small green copepod who is Mr. Krabs’s nemesis and an antagonist in many episodes. He operates a struggling restaurant called the Chum Bucket, located directly across the street from the Krusty Krab. His primary goal in the series is to steal the Krabby Patty recipe and put Mr. Krabs out of business. Plankton succeeds at stealing the recipe in the movie, but his goal of world domination is thwarted by SpongeBob. In the episode “Friend or Foe”, it is revealed that Mr. Krabs and Plankton were once best friends, but a dispute over a hamburger recipe ended their friendship.
Gary
Gary Squarepants is SpongeBob’s pet sea snail. In the series, as worms are analogous to dogs, snails are to cats, and Gary vocalizes like one. He does various chores for SpongeBob, such as making his breakfast and paying the electric bill. He is shown to be very smart, offering advice to Spongebob at times (SpongeBob can understand his meowing) and sometimes solving problems his owner cannot.
